How precious are they, simply adorable...ok, ok...they're mine, so I may be a bit biased here, LOL. I don't share pictures of my kids often, because honestly, they don't cooperate often. I'm still trying to get a good picture of them together, it's not an easy feat. I can take pictures of everyone else's kids all day long, but not my own...go figure!

Today we went location scouting to find some new places to shoot. I found this great church and they allowed me to get a few good ones (the together one still not happening), so I thought I'd share.

I had ANOTHER newborn session this week, I tell ya what, all of these adorable babies are making me want another!!! This is sweet baby L, he was such a tiny little peanut and slept pretty much the entire time. Such a joy to work with.

I had the pleasure of photographing this simply adorable 2 week old baby girl. She was the sweetest thing! She was so afraid of missing something important, she decided to stay awake pretty much the entire session. With some carefully timed maneuvering between mom taking out the paci & me snapping pics, we got some good "sleepy" shots.

This little guy and his parents were the winners of my Giving is Awesome contest I held back in December. Here is an excerpt from the nomination letter sent in:

"...Braylen was born on August 21, 2008 as a blessing to all of us. Braylen has had a tough start in life, but he is a natural-born fighter. His spirit is absolutely amazing! After being born at ECM, Braylen spent the next 28 days of his life in the NICU at Huntsville Hospital where he was diagnosed and treated for Hirschprung’s Disease, a birth defect which affects about 1 out of every 5000 children. The disease affects his intestines and he had to undergo surgery to repair the nerve cells in his large intestine. Once home, TJ and Jessica began dealing with both the joy and stress of caring for a newborn. However, Braylen’s disease made it difficult to conform to your typical newborn routine. Braylen’s digestive system was very sensitive and his body had endured so much that infection began to take over his body. Braylen has spent most of his time at home on antibiotics to replace good antibodies lost during his treatment in the NICU. While most babies with Hirschprung’s go on to lead normal lives, the doctor’s visits, medications, and treatments add to the pressures of making ends meet. Braylen’s condition has required Jessica to stay home while TJ works to provide for their family, making it necessary to live on a strict budget..."

As you can see from these pictures, Braylen is a happy, thriving 9 month old. And what a handsome boy he is. I had a great time with you guys, and it was a pleasure taking these pictures for you.

& given to you along with a copyright release. This will allow you
to print enlargements & gift prints, upload them onto a digital
photo frame, have cards made with them, etc.

I absolutely LOVE taking pictures of siblings, they are so much fun to watch.
They have these special ways of interacting with one another, and even though
they may act like they don't like the other touching them, they give the
sweetest hugs. They can't hide their love for one another when the camera is
around.

These two were SO SWEET, Miss A was telling me how her brother was "wild",
and he was born that way. LOL! But she was such a sweet big sister to him,
wild or not!

Five on Friday...

Today is Friday, right???? Things have been so crazy around
here I've missed two installments of Five on Friday, I apologize!!

I have absolutely nothing interesting to write about today...

1. I LOVE Target, love it. I go at least once a week and am fine to
go & just look at stuff & not buy anything, though that rarely happens,
I usually always leave with something.

2. I have made my bed every day for the last 4 days. I've always
said why bother making your bed when you're going to just mess it
up in a few hours. I made it on sheet washing day, and thought it was
so nice to walk in our room & have the bed made & looking good. It made
ME feel good, so I continue to do it.

3. I have enjoyed Aubrey, my daughter, be on Spring Break this week.
She goes to preschool 3 days a week, and I thought I'd lose my mind
having her home all week long, but it has been very nice. It's nice
to not have to get up & run here & there by this certain time. We've
been able to lots of fun this week. I know she misses school & her
friends, but I've enjoyed having her home with me.

4. I really want to go see Vanilla Ice in Huntsville this weekend..
it may be tonight...but I know my husband wouldn't go for that at all!
I love me some 80's/90's music.

5. That's all I can come up for now, I have to get us all ready to go
to town, which includes a trip to Target...my second this week :)

can not believe how much he has grown since his 3 month session,

2 crazy days of picture taking. It went SO WELL, better than I ever
imagined. I'm finally getting around to posting some pics from those
2 days. Here is round one, in no particular order...

Five on Friday

Yay, I remembered to do this again this week! I'm sitting here
eating my lunch, so I think I'll do a food themed 5 things today.

1. I LOVE to cook. I don't do much baking, I'd rather cook actual
full meals, and and am always trying new recipes & making up my own.
At least twice a month my husband will ask what's for dinner & I tell
him something I just came up with. It's always good though.

2.I'm addicted to Sonic's Vanilla Dr. Pepper. I go there at least
3 times a week & get a Route 44 Vanilla Dr. Pepper...YUM!

3. Speaking of Sonic, When I was pregnant with both kids, I craved
Sonic ice. I get a Route 44 drink, pour the drink out(into another
cup, I'm not wasteful) and eat the ice with a spoon. When I'm not
pregnant, I can't stand ice.

4. I like cereal, but not for breakfast. I like to eat it as a snack,
or before bed. And it has to be the sweet, full of sugar stuff. I
just finished off a box of Fruity Pebbles last night.

5. If I could pick one restaurant to go to, it would probably be
somewhere Italian...Olive Garden, Ricatoni's, or Franks. My husband
doesn't like Italian, so I only get to go once a year, on my birthday
unless I go with someone else.

WOOHOO! 2 weeks in a row, let's see if I can keep this up.

Five on Friday

I'm trying something new here...posts with no pictures ((GASP))!
I've seen this done as 10 on Tuesday, and 5 on Friday.
I'm not creative, nor exciting enough to come up with 10 random things,
so we'll try five. This will be a weekly installment on the blog,
so check back every Friday for new random facts about me.

1. I have a blanket that I have had since I was 4 years old(I'm now 28) and I still
sleep with it every night. I even take it on vacation with us. My husband HATES it.

2. I've never seen Gone With the Wind.

3. I broke both bones in my right arm when I was in 4th grade.
Yes, I'm right handed and it sucked.

4. I'm double jointed in my right elbow. Just my right one, not my left one.
I can put my palm flat on the table & turn it 360 degrees.

5. I have lived in the following states: Arkansas(born there), Massachusetts,
& Alabama.

Whew, I did it. That was tough. I'll be thinking all week for things to list next
Friday! :)

While in Florida, I took some family pictures of my husband's boss' gorgeous family.
We went to this BEAUTIFUL location called Baytowne Wharf. If you're in Destin,
you MUST visit there. It has tons of cute shops, delicious restaurants...
Another Broken Egg has THE BEST omelets EVER...cobblestone walkways, & a nice
playground for kids. It's a great way to spend an afternoon.

We had SUCH a nice vacation this past week. The beach was gorgeous, and the weather was nice. I ate SO MUCH yummy seafood, I know I gained 10 lbs while we were gone. But it was so worth it. As usual, it didn't last long enough. We're back home, back to the grind.
I am now booking sessions for the spring(YAY for warmer weather!!!), I have the Stork's Nest Model Casting Call semi finalist sessions March 7 & 8...deadline for applications is Feb 15, if you haven't gotten yours turned in yet...I'm actually looking forward to getting back to work, guess that's a perk of LOVING your job!!! :)

This is my third time working with Ayden...the first was when he was still in his Momma's belly, but we'll count that. :) I last saw him at 10 days old, he is now 3 months old. I can't believe how big he has gotten! He is such a sweet baby, with such a sweet smile..when he smiles...I don't think he cared for me & my camera much, everytime he I went to take his picture, he cried. Maybe he was just sleepy, he did take a nap shortly into the session, which made for some CUTE sleepy baby pictures.

Maybe at his 6 month session he'll like me better.

Hello 2009! Wow, 2008 was SUCH a great year!! I want to thank all of my 2008 clients from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for allowing me to share special moments in your lives, and capture them for you. This was my first year in business and I never imagined it would be as great as it was. I feel so blessed and so lucky to be able to do something that I love so much.

I have big plans for 2009 and am excited about what this new year will bring. I hope you all had a wonderful 2008, and I wish you an even better 2009.

I can't believe it actually snowed and actually stuck around for a little while. Aubrey & I got up Friday morning before Caleb did, so we got dressed & went outside to play in it. It was the first time Aubrey has ever played in the snow. She LOVED it.

Another fun fall session

I met Amy, Jeremy, and sweet baby Maddy at Spring Park to do a family session & some 6 month pictures of Miss Maddy. There were TONS of people there & I think I counted a total of 5 other photographers. It was a gret day for pictures!

Maddy did such a good job & was so cooperative. She even set up longer than she ever had before, and we captured it all on film...or digital..or whatever...

Once Maddy was done, she was DONE. Poor little thing fell sleep in about 30 seconds. Sitting up by yourself is hard work, isn't it Maddie?

I had my first fall session of the year this past weekend. The fallen leaves made a GORGEOUS backdrop, and just look at the beautiful kids I got to photograph! I'm SO glad it's finally looking like fall around here.

Changes are a'coming!

Keep your eyes peeled, there are some upcoming changes that are going to take place. The biggest, most exciting(for me anyway), is that I'm going to have an actual website...with galleries & everything! YAY!! I will be keeping this blog, and you can get to it from my website. I love having the blog and being able to add little bits of information regarding each session, so I can't do away with it. I'll continue to post updates & specials on the blog, so please keep visiting it.

I'm hoping my website will be up & running on Monday. If you type in or click on www.jenniferweddington.com, you will automatically be directed to my website. On the front page of the site, you can click to enter the site & view the galleries, or you can click to view my blog. Another minor change is that I will be dropping JW Photography, and going with Jennifer Weddington Photography. I originally shied away from Jennifer Weddington Photography due to the fact that it is SO LONG and more than a mouthful, but I have realized that it is much more personal than JW Photography, and I just like it better. I had the pleasure of taking Ayden's newborn pictures yesterday. He was such a sweet, happy baby. It really made me miss my "babies" being that small...although Caleb was NEVER that small...My husband is not going to like me photographing newborns, I came home yesterday saying "Don't you want just ONE MORE baby????". LOL A least I can get my baby fix through pictures.

One day a couple of weeks ago I was taking my business cards to some of the local baby boutiques. The last one I went to was The Stork's Nest in Florence. I talked to Andrea, the owner for a while, and Sunday I did the first of 2 sessions for photos to hang in her store. This session was her 3 children. She has GORGEOUS kids, and they all 3 did so well. I had a lot of fun.

And to make a cool thing even cooler, The Stork's Nest will be moving into the mall in the next 2-3 weeks, that means an increase in traffic flow, which in turn means more people seeing my pictures. AWESOME opportunity for me. I'm so appreciative of Andrea for letting me do this. So when you guys are at the mall doing your Christmas shopping(only 100 shopping days left, BTW)stop in The Stork's Nest and buy something cute for your kiddo(s), and check out some of my pictures. Since I'm starting a new blog, I wanted to include a few of my favorite photos.

After a while of pushing from friends & family members, I'm finally doing it...I'm going to start my own photography business!!! I'm excited, scared, nervous-all at the same time. I love photography, I always have. I love taking pictures of my kids, making sure to try to capture every moment I can, after all, they are only this little once. I want other's to have that too.

My current plan is to continue to build my portfolio and get in as much practice & learning as I can. I want to specialize in maternity, newborn, children, and family photography. I would like be an "on location" photographer, not a studio photographer. I want to get in the comfort zone of my subjects & capture them in every day life.

So there they are-my dreams & aspirations. I have TONS of support and look forward to taking on this new endeavor.
